Treaty of Fond du Lac signed in 1876 stopped the fighting between the Ojibwe, Dakota and other tribes. It also took the mineral rights to their lands for the US. This watercolor is by James Otto Lewis who was present at the signing. Duluth Public Library, Zenith Web Site
