The Outlaw Bridge was built by the Rotary clubs of Duluth, Superior, Port Arthur, Ft. William and the businesses of Grand Marais in 1917.  This wood bridge on the Pigeon River became a major route of bootleggers during Prohibition. Fort William and Port Arthur joined to become Thunder Bay and the wood bridge was tore down and replaced in 1930 officially connecting Canada and the USA. Zenith Web Site
